The first product we ever engineered, the BuiltRight Industries Rear seat release was made to make your life easier. It’s a simple solution to accessing the area behind the rear seat backs of your truck. Designed with an OEM-inspired nylon pull strap, releasing the rear seat latch is effortless. The bracket firmly holds the latch pull in place and also guides the strap towards the top of the seat for easy reaching. It works hard so you don’t have to.

Prior to ordering, please feel free to follow the installation guide and lower the seat back to check on the amount of available space in your truck! 

2009 - 2014 F-150/Raptor Supercrew: These models can utilize two latch release kits (one each side of the 60/40 rear seat).

2015 - 2024 F-150/Raptor Supercab and Supercrew: These models store OEM tool kit behind the passenger side seat and use one latch release kit for the driver's side.

2017 - 2024 F-250 and F-350 Supercab and Supercrew: These models will utilize a single kit on the driver's side.

Install

Installation of our Rear Seat Release takes just a few minutes using a T30 torx bit and something like a closed end wrench to release the seat latch. Check out our video below!

Excellent Product

Excellent product. Installed easy enough. The only minor issue I have is the pull strap is kinda short and made from really soft material and it falls behind the seat. If I had small hands it probably wouldn't be that big a deal.

Fantastic product; worked; easy install

I love not only the easy access but also the easy install. The video was clear and concise with easy to follow instructions which included a potential microadjustment which I had to make. My entire install less than 20 minutes.. including putting up my tools and grabbing a cold one.

Innovative Quality Product

I just finished putting in two of these Rear Seat Release Kits in my 2011 F-150 Supercrew. One for each side of the split rear bench. I could not be more thrilled and satisfied with every aspect. The installation was a breeze for a shade tree mechanic like me. I watched a few YouTube videos before hand to get an idea of the quirks of the installation process. It took me about an hour to do both taking my time to get both installed and working perfectly. I am excited because now I can access some storage in the rear of my truck. I can also access my rear window easier to clean it better on the inside. My hat is off to the folks at BuiltRight Industries who recognized this issue and came up with a simple and effective solution at an affordable price. Every F-150 owner should have one or more of these installed in their truck.

Quality

Very well-built, good instructions. Still trying to figure out how to get it to latch closed without lifting the seat up first and then pushing the seat back- I think it just needs to loosen up hopefully. Either way, this is a handy add-on.

Hey Dan, That issue you are describing is actually a defect in the OEM latch behind the seat. Release kit was good but unnecessary.

Great gear, should include the star bit or suggest it heavily. Nonetheless, my truck has a sub from the factory and no usable space behind the seat but kit is great!

Easy Install

Part fit well and was easy to install especially after watching the install video. Word of warning to anyone with the upgraded stereo/speaker system, you won't gain a lot of space behind the seat with this since there is a speaker and amplifier in that space. Still a small spot to put some lightweight stuff that won't pull on wiring but less than what I was hoping for.
